Author and assign courses
Build a curriculum, publish it, and give learners access.
Administrators can author courses owned by their organization. Licensed courses belong to their content owner and are read-only in the receiving organization.
- Open Courses and select New course.
- Give the course a clear title and description.
- In Curriculum, add modules and lessons. The writing toolbar inserts images, inline videos and tables, and formats headings, lists and notes. Preview shows the same content learners see. The text also supports Markdown formatting; pasted HTML remains text.
- For a video lesson, upload a recording or add a direct media link. Include a transcript or equivalent teaching text in the lesson content.
- For a quiz or survey, save the lesson and then write its questions in the curriculum.
- Publish the course when its content is ready.
- Select Assign, choose a learner, and optionally set a deadline and access end date. Send assignment email controls the email for this assignment, including bulk assignments.
Select a lesson to move it up or down within its module. Use Position & release to choose another module, or its actions menu to delete it. A lesson with assessment questions or learner activity keeps its type to protect that history.
The Files section is available for every lesson type. For a new lesson, choose Save and attach files, then upload a PDF, document or other supported handout. Learners with course access can download it.
The course’s Preview button saves your edits and opens a separate browser tab. Preview activity does not change learner progress.
Open Results beside a licensed course to review your organization’s attempts. Average score includes all filtered attempts; the pass rate counts learner-and-quiz pairs that have passed. A learner who exhausts a quiz’s attempts appears as Failed. In People, open their profile and choose Grant another attempt from the course’s actions. This adds one attempt for the selected quiz and retains the attempt history.
A course assignment is an enrollment in a course. It does not create a separate homework submission or gradebook entry.
Learning paths arrange courses in order. Assigning a path grants missing course access and checks licensed seats. If any course cannot be assigned, the entire assignment is left unchanged.
Use Archive to retire a course with learner history. Structural deletions are refused when they would invalidate learning records.
